From my fantastic visit to the National Stationery Show, I picked up several new vendors. Pioneer Color was one of many that caught my eye. They are one of the leaders in producing great magnets and social stationery for any occasion.

Write the Best Thank-You

You’ve just received the most fabulous gift…a company just donated new computers to your non-profit…the wedding gifts keep-a-comin’…it was your son’s 1st birthday. Whatever the occasion, a simple ‘thank you’ just won’t do. Here are some tips to “Write the Best Thank-You”:

*Social graces state that a thank-you should be sent within six weeks from the date the gift was received, eight weeks is the maximum.

*Address the note directly to the gift giver & anyone that played a part in the gift or service given.

*It is important to keep an accurate list of gifts and who gave them. When writing your sentiments, always state the item given by name.

*It won’t hurt to mention how you plan to use said item.

*If the recipient assisted in the development of the event, mention the effort that was given.

*Do you remember a specific conversation or fantastic toast the person made? Well, mention that too!

*Close with a future meeting, if appropriate.

Remember the ‘Golden Rule’ when you receive a gift that is tangible or even someone’s time. Nothing says class more than a hand-written note. Need to send some thank-you’s? Check out these fine examples:

Polka Dot Pear was started by two sisters with the birth of their daughters and in the memory of their Mother, who lost her battle to breast cancer. Their designs are fresh and imaginative. The Mt. Zion Bridal/Business Expo

This past Saturday, October 3rd, I participated in the Mt. Zion Bridal/Business Expo. They converted the sanctuary into a sea of businesses, showcasing their wares. I met a lot of extremely proficient vendors, in an array of specialties. Everyone from Reva Thompson, Office Associate, for Dejuan Buford of State Farm Insurance in Brentwood, Tennessee to Angelina Armstrong of Soul Purpose natural body products.

For those that know me, you understand that I am challenged in the world of technology!! I actually took some pictures of beautiful cakes, jewelry, catering displays, event planners…I could go on!! But due to my lack of skills in the picture-taking area, they are awful! My sister, Shannon, actually gave me the novel idea of READING my manual to see why every picture is either fuzzy or too dark. I just want someone to fix it!!! Anyway, I managed to salvage a couple of pictures, but they don’t do the event justice. Vendors, if you are looking for an affordable Expo, become a part of this great event. Brides, customers and those who just want to see what is out there, be sure to visit next year, it is free to the public!
